High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) Aylesbury Prices - August 2018

High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is a new innovation for lifting and tightening skin on the neck, around the eyebrow, under the chin and the body including treating cellulite. It is also used to improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the face and décolletage. This therapeutic treatment is medically appropriate for anyone with drooping skin but isn’t ready for surgery.

HIFU therapy is performed on an outpatient basis and a single treatment may take between 30 minutes and 2 hours depending on the treatment area. While results can be achieved in a single treatment session, some patients may require several treatment sessions depending on their age and skin condition.

It is important to note that results vary from person to person based on various factors such as medical history, age and lifestyle habits. Consequently, some clients may see noticeable results immediately after the procedure while others can expect final results after four to ten weeks. The results of HIFU Aylesbury therapy may last anywhere between six months to two years.

The HIFU Treatment Process

During the procedure, the practitioner uses a HIFU device to deliver ultrasound energy into different layers of the skin including the dermis, epidermis, and superficial muscular aponeurotic system (SMAS). The thermal energy is delivered at temperatures between 65°C and 70°C. As the ultrasound waves penetrate the skin’s surface, they rapidly heat the dermal and subdermal tissue, causing microdamage to the tissue. During the healing process, the tissue stimulates the production of collagen which leads to the tightening and lifting of the skin in the treated area.

Contraindications

There are few contraindications to HIFU treatment including:
  • Bleeding disorders
  • Anti-thrombosis therapy
  • Metal implants in the treatment area
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women
  • An active systemic or skin disease which may hinder regeneration
